It's tough for the Australian squad to set fresh records.

The top summits have already been conquered.

We're talking about the unit that has secured seven Cricket World Cups, in addition to six more T20 titles, and once went over three years unbeaten in 50-over cricket.

The secondary achievements, the ones sought by the achievement hunters, are what's still available for a team that has achieved everything.

That it took until Sunday's three-wicket win over India for them to achieve their initial ODI chase exceeding 300, taking back their record for the highest in women's cricket's 50-over format, is, frankly, a tribute to the bowling attack that have represented Australia over five decades.

It's challenging for their batsmen to maintain a record if not provided the possibility.

Finally, the consequence of Australia giving up 330 runs was leader Alyssa Healy receiving a chance to deliver her newest gem.

Originally famous as the teenage relative of renowned former Aussie wicketkeeper Ian, she first played in 2010 after her nation couldn't capture either of the T20 or ODI World Cups held the previous year and has experienced everything through 15 championship-filled years since.

Many contend the reasoning behind the pressure of a final. Others can counter with the test that comes when pursuing an unprecedented total and a loud pro-India audience of 20,000.

What's definite is this ton was much more difficult to see coming.

The Christchurch destruction in 2022 happened while she was the highest scorer, but this performance followed six innings in India over the past few weeks in which she had failed to pass 30.

"If you've observed me in practice sessions, it has been a challenging time because it appeared my form was missing at all," commented Healy.

"However when you enter the playing area, your competitive nature activate and you just lock into the competition."

Healy's fighting spirit has always been her major advantage - and an irreplaceable characteristic in succeeding legendary former captain Meg Lanning.

She was challenged by India's emerging talent Kranti Gaud in the previous month's ODI series, dismissed by the 22-year-old seamer in each encounter, but this time it merely gave Healy's inspiration.

A single was taken off Gaud's first delivery and from there the batsman was underway.

"The possibility to play and engage in competition with her and simply enjoy myself in that aspect, somewhat inspired me," said Healy.

She reached fifty in 35 pitches - her quickest at a World Cup - and her century in 84 deliveries while she punished short deliveries, striking 21 boundaries and three big hits.

When she was removed her side needed 66 more at a run-a-ball - an unconquered height now needing a comfortable finish.

"To chase 330 is new territory so I'm happy we have the confidence to do that now," continued Healy.

"Ideally we won't need to repeat it but, should it happen, we are confident we can succeed."

That comment will be the ultimate thing competing nations at this World Cup want to hear.

Over the past five days a sense they will win from any position has only strengthened - this victory following success over Pakistan by 107-run victory despite struggling at 76-7 at a certain moment.

Subsequently Australia meet Bangladesh before an encounter with longtime competitors England in Indore in a week and a half, by which point a semi-final berth may well be secure.

During that phase they exited the prior year's T20 World Cup in a shock defeat by South Africa - a match Healy missed because of ruptured tissue in her foot as she captained her nation for the initial instance at an important competition.
